Ah, the pun title. Like Moving Pictures before it, this is a classic of the genre. And it's - almost - a return to the winning formula of stacking the hits to the front. Perhaps including the title track as the kick off is a small fight against a return to the norm. The title also suggests a minor rapprochement between the two protagonists - or perhaps they thought they had to set the record straight after the role play of Savage. It's a riff that keeps rocking - Kings and Queens, Revivals, this is a band who are back, or so it seems.

Right at the end of the 80s, and so much has changed. It's a more technological age, for sure. But there are also echoes of some of the rock hits that Eurythmics perhaps felt should have been a shared legacy of the decade - a bit of U2 here, a bit of The Police there. They still seem very fixated on a kind of acting approach to the music though, as though it's never really them you are listening to. Who are the band, and who are the characters?

And of course, as I was now distracted with Potterrow, Floral Riot, Avalanche, all of that, I guess it's no surprise that even the big hits seem less familiar than the early 80's hits. And also to be fair, some of these were fairly minor hits. Is there a tit for tat single thing going on here? One of mine, one of yours? It's possible.

Revival takes us back to some of the oomph of earlier numbers, but you get the feeling they just need a break. A decade long break... And I would have loved See No Evil to be a cover of the Television track, but no dice.
