Joel Plaskett, as a solo artist, and with his band the Emergency, have been a constant feature of our lives for the past twenty five years. We've seen him all across the UK, in his native Canada, and in NYC. Over that time, it has been an unrivalled pleasure to have been the "couple of strangers" who have been on hand to buy him a Jameson and soda on ice after a show. He remains - bafflingly - a relatively unknown quantity. This seemed like a good place to collect some favourite memories and thoughts of someone who I admire probably more than any other artist.
