It's a very sixties, girl group, Lulu and Cilla and Dusty kind of start. Actually not what I was expecting, but still really good - lots of standards like Break-A-Way and Time Is On My Side. It's got a bit of bite to it though, and there are songs like Another Woman's Man which hit home a lot harder than some of the other fluffier tracks.
I suppose the issue around this time - mid-sixties - was the sheer volume of material being produced. If you wanted to stand out that was fine, but you couldn't then blame people if they weren't really that interested. Or you go for a lowest common denominator style approach to get your name out there and then do your own thing? I'm not sure.
